Artist Statement

I have been creating art since the moment I picked up my first Crayon. At a young age I was eager to draw; I recreated the animals and landscapes from my books. Throughout my teens, I enjoyed creating more detailed drawings and ceramic sculptures, but the moment I picked up my first DSLR camera was when I decided to pursue a career in art. I absolutely fell in love with capturing the world through a lens; having the ability to manipulate each photo was addictive. Throughout my scattered time in college studying photography, I began exploring digital fractal art, making my visions even more colorful and complex. Then, I saw my first wire wrapped pendant and my world was changed yet again.

Throughout my life I have always loved collecting rocks and minerals. The first wire wrapped pendant I laid eyes on sent my mind down a rabbit hole of which there was no return. After seeing this amazing style of setting stones, I knew I had to own one for myself. I commissioned a few pendants from a friend and fellow wrapper, but my mind kept churning out new ideas. Soon, I started to get my hands dirty; my visions came to life as I took my numerous jewelry designs and began making my very own wire wraps.

Being able to apply all of my previous art knowledge has made my journey all the sweeter. A lifetime of drawing experience is utilized to visualize every design through sketching each detail and dimension. These are the jewelry’s blueprints necessary for constructing each piece. Years of creating sculptures has taught  me to see all the angles–not just a two dimensional image–allowing me to create three dimensional wire art. Applying my knowledge of fractal art and geometry has inspired me make some of the most intricate pieces in my collection. To top it off, my studies in photography allow me to capture my creations and share them with all of you. I will always strive to expand my knowledge of this craft and other art forms to push my style further–generating new unique pieces of jewelry. Creating art has been a passion of mine since I was a child, and now I have the opportunity to make art for others to wear and enjoy on a daily basis.
